DANCEFORMATION PRO is an Australian Specialised Contemporary Dance Program and Company that began in 2021, for dancers 17-30+ years.

Specialising: 

DF PRO is a 1 and a half days program that has been carefully designed to take pre-professional and professional dancers training to a whole new level with internationally acclaimed contemporary dance training, evidence based movement methodologies within a variety of contemporary dance practices and exercise science principles to enhance performance skills. 

Th e program also provides opportunities to learn and perform x2 Repertoires and x2 Short Creative Works in the mid-year and end of year Performances by established choreographers from NYC and Europe.

Broadening: 

The program specifically implements the training and education disciplines delivered in an international contemporary dance school, collage and company. 

The faculty are meticulously selected from their personal experiences training in an international dance collage and/or international company, that will give each dancer an opportunity to prepare themselves for a success dance career.

Where and when?

Program Days: Tuesday's (half day) & Wednesday’s 

Program Times: 9:30am-3:00pm (Tuesday's till 1:00pm)

Program Location: DUTI STUDIOS, Newtown

Program Commencement: January 30th 2024

Program Duration: 3.5 School Terms (including term breaks) 

[2 Terms optional if plans are in place to audition abroad in July]

 

Independence:

The concise commitment to the program opens up the rest of the week for each to explore other training avenues, attend auditions, sign freelance contracts and other work opportunities. 

DF PRO also welcomes dancers who are waiting to start a professional dance contract or waiting to attend an international dance collage, to up keep their high level of training and performance skills before they commence.

The Producer of DANCEFORMATION:

​

Exercise Science Practitioner, Clinical Pilates Instructor and Professional Contemporary Dancer, Georgette (Sofatzis) Xuereb focuses on the use of Anatomy and Biomechanics through dance practices such as, Contemporary Dance, Ballet Technique and The Horton Dance Technique, to enable freedom of movement, performance consistency, a decrease in muscle and performance fatigue as well as pain/injury management.

 

She integrates her extensive international performance experiences and movement science degree to provide tools in linking physical conditioning concepts to contemporary dance practices.

​

Georgette strives on the importance of pioneered modern/contemporary dance techniques, after experiencing an extraordinary transformation in strength and movement quality over 3 yrs of training under American Masters. In addition to this Georgette noticed the demand in this particular standard of training when auditioning and dancing with major dance companies around the world.

- Postural/Movement Assessment by Exercise Science Practitioner Georgette Sofatzis

- Theory classes on Functional Anatomy and Biomechanical theories for dancers 

- Personalised Movement Correction Programs

- Targeting each dancers needs through Movement Science and Somatic approaches to assist their dance performance ​

- One on one mentoring on International Dance Companies and personalised needs 

- Learning acclaimed International dance practices that are educated globally within a profound professional school
